FP&A Professional Opportunity with Leading Commodities Firm in London
We are partnering with a leading Commodities firm in London, looking for a commercially minded, technically strong FP&A professional to join their Finance function at a critical time of transformation. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines core financial planning and analysis expertise with a genuine passion for modernising how finance reports, analyses, and communicates data.
You'll play a dual role: a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, HR, and Technology, and a driving force behind the automation and digitisation of our reporting processes using tools like Power BI and Power Automate.
What You'll Do
FP&A & Reporting
- Lead key elements of the monthly management accounts and reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of insight
- Produce and enhance management reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders
- Support reporting to Group Executives and Board level, delivering clear, concise financial narratives
- Play a leading role in budgeting and rolling forecast processes, including scenario and run-rate analysis
- Provide proactive analysis to flag risks, opportunities, and key business drivers

Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted finance partner to stakeholders across the business
- Provide decision support and challenge to senior stakeholders (Director/VP level)
- Translate complex financial data into clear, commercially meaningful insight
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to improve understanding of financial performance
Process Improvement, Automation & Capability Building
- Drive automation and optimisation of FP&A processes to reduce manual effort
- Design and build Power BI dashboards enabling self-service analytics
- Implement automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Power Automate, and Excel
- Reduce reporting cycle times and manual intervention, particularly around month-end
- Partner with Technology/Data teams to improve data quality and reporting infrastructure
- Coach team members on new tools and data literacy
- Champion continuous improvement and best-practice reporting approaches
About You
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in FP&A or commercial finance
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel (financial modelling, complex formulas, data manipulation; VBA a plus)
- Strong PowerPoint skills, with confidence presenting at board level
- Power BI expertise essential: dashboard development, data modelling, DAX, report automation
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Workday or similar)
- Experience with planning tools (Hyperion or similar)
- Desirable: Power Automate or similar workflow tools
- Desirable: exposure to SQL or Python for data extraction and automation
- Desirable: experience working with large, multi-source datasets

Experience & Track Record
- Proven background in FP&A, commercial finance, or management reporting
- Demonstrated delivery of process improvement or automation initiatives
- Experience replacing or enhancing manual reporting with automated solutions
- A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and decision-making
