Job Title AVP, Information Security
Job Description
As an AVP, Information Security, you will play a critical role in executing & overseeing security initiatives that protect our systems, data, and infrastructure. We’re looking for an experienced cybersecurity specialist who can adapt quickly to new challenges. You’ll work closely with IT, engineering, and risk teams to evaluate and assess security controls, evaluate new designs, and drive continuous improvement across our security posture.
Role Responsibilities
- Cyber Risk Management, Security Consultancy, and Governance
- Lead the identification, assessment, and ongoing management of cybersecurity risks across the Division.
- Provide credible challenge and oversight of security controls, risk acceptances, and remediation plans.
- Maintain cybersecurity risk registers, risk metrics, and reporting packs for senior management and risk committees.
- Support compliance with global cybersecurity regulatory requirements relevant to the insurance industry.
- Support the development and execution of the cybersecurity strategy and multi-year roadmap.
- Identify emerging cyber threats, regulatory trends, and industry best practices relevant to the insurance sector.
- Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies, whilst informing technology and business owners to communicate current resilience and risk exposure.
- Provide Technical Security consultancy to projects.
- Knowledge sharing with team members and promote a culture of security awareness.
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, preferably in finance services or insurance sectors.
- Broad knowledge of security domains: network security, endpoint protection, Secure development lifecycle, identity and access management, cloud security (AWS/Azure), incident response, and governance.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, BMA, PRA, APRA, MAS, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experienced in assessing and leveraging AI capabilities, and knowledge of AI risks and security best practices.
- Prefer certifications such as GIAC, CISSP, etc.
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
