Role: Global Market Operations AVP / BA – Margin / Middle Office Settlements
Location: Glasgow, Hybrid, 4 days per week on site, 1 day working from home
Start Date: ASAP, until end of Jan 2027 initially, potential to go perm
Daily Rate: Competitive, Inside IR35

Overall Purpose of Role
Support the controlled execution of margin and collateral processes within CMVS, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned to defined procedures and controls.
Contribute to process consistency and incremental improvements through disciplined execution and support to change initiatives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day CMVS (Collateral, Margin & Valuations Services) processes covering margin calculation, reconciliation, and collateral movements in line with defined procedures and controls.
- Perform structured output validation within core margin platform to ensure completeness and accuracy of margin calls.
- Investigate breaks, exceptions, and variances, applying defined escalation paths where thresholds or tolerances are exceeded.
- Support dispute management through timely analysis, coordination with counterparties, and clear documentation of outcomes.
- Maintain adherence to control requirements, including evidencing execution of key controls and supporting audit and assurance reviews.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, control gaps, or recurring issues and proposing practical enhancements.
- Support delivery of change initiatives through UAT, data validation, and process documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely MI production, highlighting key risks, exceptions, and operational themes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Business, Risk, Technology, Ops Risk) to resolve issues and support service delivery.
- Candidates with change / BA and / or project management experience within a Markets Operations setting would be considered.

Basic Qualifications / Experience:
- Experience in collateral management, margin processing, or post-trade operations within a banking environment
- Good understanding of margin methodologies, collateral flows, and associated operational risks.
- Ability to interpret and apply defined procedures, controls, and escalation protocols consistently.
- Strong analytical capability to investigate breaks and reconcile data across multiple systems.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues and outcomes.
- Proficiency in working with large datasets (e.g., Excel or similar tools) to support reconciliation and analysis.
- Awareness of control frameworks and the importance of accurate control execution and evidence.
- Ability to operate in a controlled, time-sensitive environment with competing priorities.
- Margin experience ideally or general middle office experience with settlements

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with core margin platforms
- Familiarity with control frameworks, audit interaction, and evidence preparation.
- Experience contributing to automation, data tooling, or process improvement initiatives.
- Awareness of emerging data/AI tooling (e.g., data analytics, workflow automation) supporting operational efficiency.
