Director of Sales (EMEA Vertical), Cloud & AI Solutions – Critical Role

About the Role

Here’s what you’ll achieve:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with corporate goals, critically evaluating their effectiveness to drive revenue growth and market expansion across the assigned EMEA vertical.
  • Provide accurate and clear visibility of team revenue, forecasting, pipeline, and performance metrics to upper management through weekly forecast calls, with proactive gap remediation.
  • Lead performance management by:
    • Establishing proactive management metrics
    • Driving accountability
    • Supporting strategic sales team development
  • Maintain strong key partner relationships, evaluating:
    • Partner mix strategies
    • Market trends
    • Competitive dynamics
    • Staffing requirements to inform growth strategies
  • Identify, oversee, and recruit reseller partners, collaborating with management to support acquisition activities and meet company goals.
  • Drive operational improvements to:
    • Increase sales
    • Grow the bottom line
    • Reduce costs while adhering to Hyland’s core values.
  • Build executive relationships with strategic customers, participating in:
    • Key account planning
    • Executive sponsorship
    • Complex deal strategies to accelerate growth and customer success.
  • Align with Marketing, Business Development, and Partners to:
    • Drive pipeline creation
    • Ensure healthy demand generation
    • Optimise account penetration
    • Accelerate new logo acquisition.
  • Champion the adoption of Hyland’s Cloud and AI portfolio, ensuring:
    • Sales transformation
    • Effective positioning of modern solutions
    • Alignment with customer business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities (Expanded)

  • Strategic Execution: Align sales tactics with planetary objectives to expand revenue streams.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Deliver real-time sales insights and reports to leadership.
  • Team Leadership: Build a high-performance culture through coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Partner Relations: Leverage partnerships while scrutiny of market opportunities, competition, and team needs.
  • Sales Growth Initiatives:
    • Partner recruitment and management
    • Relationship-driven cost optimisation
    • Strategic relationship sales strategies
  • Account Retention & Expansion: Trial customer alignment, drive executive-level engagement, and streamline sale dynamic large contracts.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic business plans in a sales leadership capacity.
  • Extrible sales culture through:
    • Regular coaching
    • Talent development
    • Succession planning
    • Performance management
  • Expertise in accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, and revenue reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and cross-functional leadership with influence across global teams.
  • Technical fluency to understand and articulate complex solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confirmatory negotiation skills with a track record of closing largest accounts.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • EMEA sales experience with deep knowledge of regional market dynamics.
  • Background in channel or partner sales, including:
    • Reseller identification/recruitment
    • Relationship management
  • Familiarity selling Cloud, AI, or platform-based solutions.
  • Proven ability to engage with C-Level executives and drive strategic account transformations.
  • Leadership of organizational transformation projects.
  • Experience in a matrixed global organization where influence is critical.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and sales-driven methodologies.
  • History of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in fast-paced, accountability environments.
