The Role

We're looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to join a team building and scaling a modern, enterprise-grade GenAI platform.

This role is centred around designing, building and operating cloud-native solutions on AWS, while working closely with the application layer across both frontend and backend services. You'll collaborate with software engineers to ensure applications built with React, TypeScript and Python are secure, scalable, observable and production-ready.

You'll play a key role in shaping cloud architecture, automating infrastructure, improving developer experience, and ensuring systems can reliably support AI-driven products at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure on AWS
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK
  • Build and support scalable, secure and resilient application platforms
  • Work closely with engineers developing applications in React, TypeScript and Python
  • Support the deployment and operation of frontend and backend services
  • Design and manage containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery workflows
  • Implement monitoring, logging, tracing and observability best practices
  • Optimise cloud environments for performance, reliability and cost efficiency
  • Support incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Apply cloud security best practices and governance controls
  • Contribute to platform automation and developer self-service capabilities
  • Help define cloud architecture standards and operational best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
  • Experience designing and operating cloud-native applications and infrastructure
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK)
  • Strong understanding of AWS services including IAM, VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS and S3
  • Experience supporting modern web applications built with React and TypeScript
  • Experience working with backend services developed in Python
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring and logging practices
  • Experience troubleshooting issues across both cloud infrastructure and application layers
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
