AWS Cloud Operations Engineer – Large Government Project
Full-Time | UK Only Night Shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM) Applicants must be eligible for Security Clearance
About the Role
Looking for an opportunity to make a real impact on a major government programme?
We're recruiting an experienced AWS Cloud Operations Engineer to join a large-scale project focused on onboarding a major public sector client and delivering highly secure customer contact solutions.
This is a critical role within a growing engineering team, helping to build, support, and optimise cloud platforms that underpin critical services.
Responsibilities
- Work across AWS cloud infrastructure, including EKS, ECS, EC2, RDS, IAM, and VPC
- Administer Linux environments and ensure high Availability
- Manage container platforms, including Kubernetes (EKS/ECS)
- Optimise and secure cloud-based databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora or similar)
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for scalability and consistency
- Drive reliability, security, and continuous improvement

Requirements
Essential:
- Strong AWS Cloud Operations experience, particularly with:
- EKS, ECS, EC2, RDS, IAM, and VPC
- Expertise in Linux systems administration
- Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes (preferably on AWS)
- Hands-on Terraform (IaC) knowledge
- Database administration for PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Aurora
- A passion for reliability, security, and bottleneck optimisation
