AWS Cloud Security Architect | National Security | London | Up to £94,000 + £7,000 DV Bonus + Outstanding Package
I'm partnered with one of the UK's leading Defence and National Security consultancies, who are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Security Architect to join their rapidly growing National Security practice in London.
This is an opportunity to work on some of the UK's most sensitive and technically challenging cloud programmes, helping deliver secure-by-design AWS environments for mission-critical systems that directly support national security.
You'll work alongside some of the industry's best cloud architects and cyber specialists, influencing large-scale cloud migration programmes as well as greenfield cloud-native solutions.
The role
- Design and lead secure AWS cloud architectures for high-assurance environments
- Embed Security by Design throughout cloud migration and cloud-native programmes
- Carry out threat modelling and security risk assessments
- Apply security controls aligned to legal, regulatory and industry frameworks
- Work closely with solution architects, engineering teams and cyber specialists
- Provide technical leadership and mentor other cloud security engineers
- Drive improvements in AWS security posture across complex enterprise environments

We're looking for
- Strong experience designing secure AWS cloud architectures
- Expertise across AWS security services including IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Macie and WAF
- Knowledge of cloud networking and identity management
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Strong understanding of cyber security principles, secure architecture and threat modelling
- Experience working with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS Benchmarks
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and consulting skills

Desirable
- AWS Security Specialty or CISSP
- Experience securing containerised workloads
- Previous experience within Defence, Government or National Security environments

Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. Those without current clearance will be supported through the process, subject to eligibility.
