Operations Engineer
(Linux, AWS, Terraform)
Greater Manchester (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Salary up to £45,000 + Bonus
We have partnered with a Manchester-based technology and market research company looking to hire an Operations Engineer to join its growing infrastructure team. As the business continues to scale, they're investing in their cloud platforms and operational capabilities to support global data collection services.
You'll work within a collaborative Operations team, maintaining and improving Linux infrastructure, AWS environments and internal IT systems. It's a hands-on role focused on automation, reliability and cloud technologies, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code skills.

What you'll do
- Support and maintain Linux production infrastructure.
- Manage and optimise AWS cloud environments using Terraform.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents and improve platform reliability.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Python, Terraform and Puppet.
- Support databases, internal IT systems and customer-facing platforms.
- Implement security best practices and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Participate in an on-call support rota.
Key requirements
- Commercial Linux systems administration experience.
- Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform desirable).
- Scripting or automation experience with Python, Bash or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving skills.
