AWS Specialist – AWS Backup, Terraform & Cyber Resilience
Location: Hybrid (Leeds preferred) | Remote considered for the right candidate
Contract: Initial 2–3 months with strong potential for extension
Day Rate: £550–£650 per day (Inside IR35)
A leading global technology services organisation is seeking an AWS Specialist to support a major cloud transformation programme for a large-scale enterprise operating a highly regulated, business-critical AWS environment.
This is a strategic consulting role focused on AWS backup architecture, cyber resilience, disaster recovery, and Terraform-led Infrastructure as Code. You'll act as a trusted advisor, helping shape cloud standards, governance, and resilience capabilities across a complex multi-account AWS estate.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define and lead AWS backup and disaster recovery strategies across enterprise environments.
- Design centralised backup architectures with cross-account and cross-region governance.
- Drive the adoption of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
- Align cloud solutions with NIST Cybersecurity Framework principles and resilience standards.
- Act as a Design Authority for complex cloud initiatives.
- Engage with senior technical and business stakeholders, providing consultancy throughout discovery, design, build, and optimisation phases.
- Support the development of scalable, secure, and highly resilient AWS platforms.

What We're Looking For
- Strong expertise in AWS Backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience.
- Deep hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, and DynamoDB.
- Experience working within multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organisations and Control Tower.
- Solid understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and security best practices.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead architecture discussions within enterprise environments.
- Previous experience in consultancy, technical leadership, or principal-level cloud roles.

Desirable Certifications
- AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
- AWS Security – Specialty
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
- CISSP or CISM
