Responsibilities
The Cloud Operations Engineer (AWSOps) ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of our AWS platform. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and maintenance across essential AWS services, including:
- EC2
- RDS & database optimisations
- S3 & data storage
- CloudFront & content distribution
- Application & Network Load Balancers
- Support release cycles with:
- Change control & post-deployment validation
- Rollback readiness & testing
- Triage AWS infrastructure alerts (via Datadog) to improve:
- Self-healing alert policies
- Reduced noise & observability
- Maintain resilience methodologies, document runbooks, and:
- Ensure ticket hygiene & operational biliary consistency
- Collaborate in delivering and supporting Terraform-based infrastructure, including:
- Monitoring & automation rollouts
- Develop automation scripts to decrease manual effort and downstream errors
- Apply security best practices to:
- IAM, networking, resource tagging, and AWS configurations

Requirements
Experience
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in cloud operations, AWS platform engineering, or equivalent roles
- Proficiency demonstrated in:
- AWS Core Services: EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, ALD/NLB
- Kubernetes: Prior to or current exposure to Amazon EKS & certification (optional but preferred)
- Hands-on practice in Linux & Windows server fundamentals and cloud multi-tenancy
Passion for:
- Security & scalability best practices
- Documentation, runbooks, and self-documenting systems
Additional Considerations
- Experience supporting production workloads in regulated environments (e.g., financial sector, PCI DSS, SOC compliance)
- Exposure to incident management postmortems & blameless investigations
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly integrating AWS-native tools (e.g., AWS SAM, CDK) with Terraform

- Global team alignment with structured handovers during rest hours
- Follow-the-sun on-call schedule (~1week every 2months after completion of probation)
- Earnings offset from local/hemispheric time differences (rotations may extend into weekends or evenings where required)
