Job Title: Azure Data Engineer
Day Rate: £350/day (OUTSIDE IR35)
Location: Hybrid in London
Contract Length: 6 months (extendable)
Azure Data Engineer - Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and ongoing support of scalable Azure-based data and database platforms across enterprise environments
- Manage and enhance a range of Azure and cloud database technologies, including Synapse, SQL Managed Instance, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SSIS, and SSRS
- Deliver cloud migration, data integration, platform modernisation, and database optimisation initiatives from planning through to implementation
- Build and maintain automated infrastructure using Terraform and contribute to DevOps and CI/CD enablement across data platforms
- Work closely with cloud, infrastructure, application, DevOps, and analytics teams to ensure secure, resilient, highly available, and high-performing solutions

Azure Data Engineer - Required Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience delivering Azure data platforms and enterprise database solutions within complex production environments.
- Strong technical expertise across Azure Synapse/SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Managed Instance, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Proven experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and modern DevOps delivery practices.
- Broad cloud engineering knowledge spanning data, infrastructure, security, and platform technologies, with the ability to operate as a T-shaped technical specialist.
- Senior-level capability with strong ownership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to independently deliver solutions from technical design through implementation
