About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to join a well-established, international organization committed to sustainability and environmental solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work remotely within the UK, supporting a global leader in chemical cleaning and waste management services.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data platforms within Microsoft Azure, aligning with the company's strategic data initiatives. You will work closely with the Business Intelligence and Data teams to create robust data pipelines, facilitate data integration, and enable advanced analytics and reporting capabilities.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on data professional with a passion for solving complex data challenges. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, continuously seeking improvements and innovative solutions to enhance data quality, performance, and reliability. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience as a Data Engineer, particularly within cloud-based environments such as Azure. Strong technical expertise in:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Synapse Analytics
is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of ETL processes, data integration, and pipeline development, along with advanced SQL skills. Proficiency in Python or PySpark is required for data processing tasks. Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools is advantageous, providing a well-rounded skill set for data visualization and insights delivery.
A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications in Azure or data engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory and Python, to enable efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
- Create and manage data solutions using Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and other Azure data services to support business requirements.
- Assist in the integration and migration of critical data sources, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to facilitate efficient data transformation, processing, and reporting.
- Monitor data platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance data quality, reliability, and system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Document data workflows, pipelines, and processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing within the team.
