About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Developer to join our Enterprise Data team on a permanent basis. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of data integration and cloud technology, supporting the wider organization’s data needs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that underpin our research, analysis, and business intelligence activities. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data pipelines, integrations, and analytics platforms using Azure cloud services. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our data infrastructure while adhering to governance standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Azure cloud platforms and data integration tools. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and API development is essential, along with a solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Cosmos DB. Experience working within a Data and Analytics team, with a focus on ETL processes, data transformation, and real-time data solutions, is highly desirable. Familiarity with application interface technologies like REST, SOAP, and Service Bus, as well as working with JSON and XML, will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles, with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation. Additional skills in machine learning integration, DevOps practices, and industry-specific knowledge in automotive or motor insurance sectors will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure data integration solutions aligned with technical standards and business requirements.
- Build and maintain application interfaces for data and analytics products, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
- Implement and optimize big data solutions utilizing real-time and event-driven technologies to support research initiatives.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data transformations to enrich datasets, supporting analytical and operational activities.
- Build and manage cloud-native integrations using Azure services such as Logic Apps, Function Apps, and Web Apps, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Design and implement automated data pipelines and orchestration workflows, incorporating monitoring and alerting mechanisms for operational stability.
- Collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, and testers to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot production data pipelines, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all development work adheres to data governance, security policies, and best practices.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, DevOps boards, and well-commented code, to facilitate ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
