Job Title: B Licence Medical Multi Driver

Job Location: Polar Speed UPS, 7 Chartmoor Road, Site 2, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4WG

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours minimum contract

Hours: 7am start, 40 to 48 hours, flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business which may be of an urgent medical nature.

£13.04 per hour

Job Purpose And Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the scanning of packages of pallets to your delivery vehicle.
  • Manage the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle.
  • Conduct daily diligence on vehicle safety checks to the line manager prior to despatch.
  • Report any issues found on vehicle checks to line manager or team leaders prior to despatch.
  • Ensure vehicle is in temperature prior to loading.
  • Delivery and collection of pharmaceutical consignments to addresses, including GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacists, Hospitals, Wholesalers, and Home Delivery Patients.
  • Physical checking/scanning of all consignments at delivery point.
  • Communication of all operational delays or delivery failures as soon as known to the line manager and team leaders.
  • Correct completion of EPOD/Driver Manifest/Collection/Refusal paperwork.
  • Managing the returns process of all consignments entering the local depot by scanning all consignments to the forwarding depot.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle.
  • Maintain cleanliness of company uniform and ensure safety shoes/boots and high Viz are worn at all times.

  • Minimum 2 years driving experience, including motorway experience.
  • Minimum Category B Drivers Licence, with ideally no more than 3 points.
  • Previous delivery driving experience advantageous.
  • Previous Temperature Controlled Driving Experience Desired But Not Essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients.
  • Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative.
  • Flexibility in working hours/days, to suit the needs of the business which may be of an urgent medical nature.
  • Must be able to build effective working relationships with other departments and Team Leaders/Depot Manager.
  • Must appreciate the need for maintaining confidentiality.

For successful candidates Polar Speed will run an enhanced DBS checks and a minimum of 3 years referencing checks including any gaps in employment.
