B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer
Location: South Wales Salary: Up to £86,000 depending on experience (sponsorship available)
Summer Shift Options
- Available shift pattern: 3-month summer shutdown (June to September)
About the Role
We are seeking experienced B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join a dedicated base maintenance team, responsible for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across a range of commercial aircraft. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring you to:
- Supervise technicians and mechanics
- Effectively manage resources and operations
- Ensure full compliance with Part 145 regulations, company procedures and customer SLAs
Licensing & Type Ratings
The following qualifications are required:
- A valid B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (UK CAA AML or EASA AML)
- Current type rating and recency on either Boeing or Airbus family aircraft

Desirable (but not mandatory):
- Type rating and recency on:
- Boeing 737 Classic/NG, 757, or 767 family aircraft
- Airbus A320 family
- Willingness to undertake additional type-specific training provided by the company
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise teams during seasonal base maintenance checks
- Mentor and delegate tasks to junior staff, ensuring smooth workflows
- Complete and review all maintenance documentation (MOE and procedural standards)
- Report maintenance needs and issues promptly to planners and management
- Manage job timelines and work-order accuracy
- Oversee correct storage, stock control and servicing of aircraft components
- Maintain a clean, safe and compliant hangar environment, preventing FOD (Foreign Object Damage)
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Operate in adherence with company policies and risk management frameworks

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 3 years in base maintenance
- Strong understanding of:
- Aircraft documentation best practices
- Engineering processes and compliance workflows
- Proven competency in multiple aircraft systems, including:
- Rigging
- Component replacement and modifications
- Maintaining familiarity with structural assessment and repairs
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Aircraft system mechanics and upkeep
- Relevant GGPs (General Guidance Practices) and maintenance philosophies
