STS Aviation Services is hiring B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineers in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Both contract and permanent opportunities are available, working a rotating day and night shift pattern.

Position Overview
The B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer will work closely with the Lead Avionics Subject Matter Expert to support the safe and efficient delivery of an aircraft production and modification program.
This role involves supervising a skilled team of avionics technicians, conducting detailed inspections, coordinating assigned work and supporting avionics testing, troubleshooting and validation activities.
The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for avionics-related matters, provide regular progress updates and escalate technical, scheduling or resource issues when required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of avionics technicians
- Conduct detailed inspections in accordance with Boeing Aircraft Corporation specifications
- Ensure avionics work meets required quality, safety and regulatory standards
- Interpret technical manuals, engineering schematics and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate avionics maintenance and modification tasks
- Support the efficient execution of the aircraft production and modification program
- Act as a key point of contact for avionics-related program requirements
- Work closely with the Lead Avionics Subject Matter Expert
- Provide regular progress updates to the Line Manager
- Identify and report technical, scheduling or production issues
- Track adherence to allocated task card hours for avionics maintenance and modification work
- Compare planned task hours with actual completion hours
- Analyze the causes of schedule or labor-hour discrepancies
- Escalate variations to line managers, planners and program stakeholders
- Recommend process improvements that support efficiency and resource allocation
- Support avionics system testing, validation and troubleshooting
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior avionics personnel
- Promote a culture of safety, quality and operational accountability

Skills And Experience
- Valid CAA or EASA Part-66 B2 licence
- Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics systems
- Previous aircraft modification experience
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics and regulatory documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to supervise and mentor avionics technicians
- Ability to coordinate technical work within a production or modification environment
- Eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom
- Ability to meet UK security vetting requirements

Preferred Experience
- Boeing 737NG type rating
A Boeing 737NG type rating is preferred but not essential.
Part-145 Training Requirements
Candidates should hold or be able to complete the following Part-145 training requirements:
- Initial Human Factors training
- Continuation Human Factors training
- Initial SFAR Phase 1 and Phase 2 training
- Continuation SFAR Phase 1 and Phase 2 training
- Initial EWIS Group 1 and Group 2 training
- EWIS Group 1 Module G training
- Continuation EWIS Group 1 and Group 2 training
- ETOPS training
- RVSM training
