Room Leader – Bright Horizons Bank Street Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: Starting from £32,864 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Location: Canary Wharf, London


About the Role

We’re seeking a Room Leader to join our Baby Room at Bright Horizons Bank Street Day Nursery & Preschool—a purpose-built setting designed to feel like a warm, nurturing home for both children and staff.

Ideally located in Canary Wharf, the nursery is just a short walk from Jubilee Line and DLR stations, ensuring easy commuting from across London.

Responsibilities

As the Room Leader, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, support, and inspire your team to deliver exceptional care and education
  • Encourage children’s milestones, ensuring they achieve their individual developmental goals
  • Foster a fun, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for young children
  • Uphold safeguarding and health/safety compliance, ensuring compliance with EYFS guidelines
  • Build strong parent/colleague partnerships to meet children’s evolving needs
  • Maintain communications with all stakeholders using varied techniques

Requirements

To thrive in this role, we’re seeking:

  • A full and relevant Level 3 or higher Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as a:
    • Room Leader
    • Nursery Nurse
    • Nursery Practitioner
    • Early Years Educator
  • A passion for nurturing fun and inclusive learning for children
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Safeguarding expertise, including child protection procedures and legislative requirements
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to engage with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Critical commitment to teamwork and inclusive care: creating relationships based on trust and accessibility for all
