Lead Backend Engineer (Golang)

Location: Hybrid – 2 days per month in London
Salary: £70,000 to £75,000

The Opportunity

We’re working with a fast-growing, global digital platform used by millions of users each month, now scaling into new international markets.
They’re looking for a Senior / Lead Backend Engineer (Golang) to help design and build high-performance, scalable systems powering a high-traffic marketplace.
This is a hands-on engineering role with strong influence over architecture, scalability, and system design.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and scale backend services using Golang (Go)
  • Design high-performance, distributed systems
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver new features
  • Contribute to technical direction and best practices

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience with Golang (Go)
  • Background in backend or distributed systems engineering
  • Experience building scalable, high-traffic applications
  • Solid understanding of APIs, microservices, and system design
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-led environment
