Back End Developer (AI Infrastructure)

About The Room

We’re seeking Back End Developers in London to shape the future of AI-driven technology by designing, building, and optimizing mission-critical server-side systems and APIs. Your work will power AI systems that directly influence how millions interact with technology—from data pipelines, to model-serving infrastructure, and scalable microservices handling real-world traffic.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. Whether you’re a seasoned engineer seeking impactful projects or developing AI-adjacent infrastructure, this role lets you deliver meaningful work independently.

Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Format: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You’ll Contribute

  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side services, APIs, and data pipelines
  • Architect high-performance, scalable back-end systems for AI training and inference
  • Write clean, documented, and testable code adhering to best practices
  • Integrate with:
    • Databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
    • Message queues & cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • Third-party APIs
  • Optimise performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to code reviews and architecture discussions
  • Execute task/project-based assignments autonomously, scheduling work around a flexible timetable

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
