The Role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the ongoing development of a large-scale project. This role focuses on building new features, modernising legacy systems, and working closely with clients to deliver robust, scalable solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the backend architecture and ensuring seamless integration with a modern frontend built in React. The ability to also work on frontend systems using NextJS would be useful but not essential.

  • Ensure all backend functionality is exposed via our restful API, enabling consumption by a React-based frontend
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs aligned with API v3 standards
  • Maintain, optimise, and enhance existing systems
  • Refactor and redevelop legacy code to meet modern coding standards and best practices
  • Collaborate directly with clients during product build and iteration
  • Work closely with frontend developers to ensure smooth data flow and integration
  • Follow and promote MVC architecture principles in backend development
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
