Back End Specialist Launch Team

Sustainability Process Specialist – Start-Up & Launch (Leverage Yourself at Ball!)

About the Role

Working closely with a Process Expert team, you will drive spraying and necker areas for new builds, lines, and conversions, ensuring seamless start-ups. Your primary focus will be on optimising efficiency, driving down spoilage, prioritising safety compliance, and contributing to KPIs such as material usage, production supply efficiency, and environmental adherence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shaping a "safety-first" culture.
  • Leading equipment start-ups and ensuring technical alignment.
  • Serving as the on-site operational SME for assigned process areas.
  • Developing plant teams through a balanced blend of on-job and classroom-based training.
  • Delivering troubleshooting support and root cause analysis for stable operations.
  • Validating SOPs and training materials for compliance and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety-first practices, ensuring compliance and coaching peers.
  • Oversee equipment start-ups and ramp-ups, ensuring design and performance are met.
  • Act as the technical authority for assigned process areas, enabling high-performance operations.
  • Train plant teams (80% OJT, 20% classroom); develop capabilities in operation, quality, and maintenance.
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting to stabilise production and improve understandings across teams.
  • Lead root cause analysis and structured problem-solving to prevent recurring issues.
  • Validate SOPs, work instructions, and training programmes for new equipment and operational excellence.
  • Assure food safety, sanitation, and housekeeping compliance during start-ups.
  • Coordinate parts, tooling, and material supply readiness for critical start-up phases.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to transition lines to steady-state operations.
  • Document lessons learned for continuous improvement and future project success.
  • Meet efficiency and spoilage goals across all new builds and line conversions.
  • Contribute to the Start-Up Team’s shared success while specialising in specific process areas.
  • Develop site personnel through mentorship and training to enable autonomous operations.
  • Support emergency breakdown response during critical phases.
  • Guide size conversions and ensure local teams execute safe, efficient proceedings.
  • Share and implement best practices to optimise future start-ups and enhance long-term reliability.

Requirements & Competencies

✅ Qualifications: ✔ Mechanical or electrical education, with a minimum Train the Trainer qualification. ✔ Strong understanding of the full can-making process.

✅ Knowledge & Expertise: ✔ Ability to transfer technical expertise to others in functional areas. ✔ Proficiency in **equipment setup, troubleshooting, optimisation, and performance enhancement`. ✔ Strong data analysis and reporting skills. ✔ Computer literacy for process documentations and computations.

✅ English Proficiency: ✔ Minimum Commonsense communication level required.

✨ Preferred Experience: ✔ Hands-on line launch or equipment rebuild projects.

✨ Commitment to Continuous Improvement: ✔ Ownership mindset, focused on waste reduction and process optimisation. ✔ Exquisite problem-solving ability (Lean principles) and associated methodologies. ✔ Experience mentoring less experienced team members.

❗ Minimum 5 years’ experience in aluminium can manufacturing. ❗ Proof of basic problem-solving skills and Lean principles execution.


Work Environment & Compensation

This role offers support to central functions with flexible working arrangements, including hybrid or fully remote options subject to approval.

Salary Range (Gross)

DKK 502,500–723,600 per annum, based on qualifications, experience, and internal/external market benchmarks.
