About the Role
As Back End Team Leader, you will lead a high-performance team in delivering defect-free, cost-efficient production of aluminium cans. Your responsibility spans quality, safety, operational process, and sustainability, ensuring superior outputs while driving continuous innovation and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Process Control
- Lead team briefings and communicate daily & monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Provide regular reports to shift managers, ensuring clarity and alignment
- Work closely with engineering and front-end teams to resolve challenges

Cost & Resource Management
- Ensure responsible allocation of tools, equipment, and maintenance budgets
- Develop innovative, sustainable, and cost-saving plans to improve efficiency

Equipment & Process Excellence
- Develop maintenance and overhaul procedures for back-end equipment
- Optimise SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) activities to enhance productivity
- Understand and support printing, inside spray, and necker processes

Project and Sustainability Leadership
- Plan and manage back-end and downgauging projects in collaboration with engineering
- Lead improvement initiatives to streamline operations
- Align processes with environmental goals, ensuring sustainability is embedded in operations
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven people-management experience and ability to motivate teams
- Proactive, analytical, and problem-solving mindset
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong capability to identify defects and improver processes
- Process-setting and execution skills—comfortable introducing and managing new systems
- Clear and effective communicator, able to explain technical processes or issues to teams
- Sound knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement frameworks
- Meet all statutory health & safety requirements
