About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer with expertise in Node.js and Typescript to join a rapidly scaling computer vision software engineering company. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in backend development within a commercial setting, with a strong grasp of modern software engineering practices. Essential qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in Node.js and Typescript
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and consumption
  • Solid knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git
  • A track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • A background in debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing is highly desirable
  • Experience working in collaborative teams
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle processes

Responsibilities

As a Backend Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining backend services using Node.js and Typescript
  • Ensuring the security and reliability of APIs
  • Optimizing database queries for performance
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, frontend developers, and technical stakeholders—to design scalable solutions that meet business and technical requirements
  • Identifying and resolving software defects
  • Implementing automated testing frameworks
  • Contributing to engineering best practices through code reviews and documentation
  • Being proactive in enhancing system performance, reliability, and maintainability, ensuring the backend infrastructure supports the company's innovative products effectively
