About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer with expertise in Node.js and Typescript to join a rapidly scaling computer vision software engineering company. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in backend development within a commercial setting, with a strong grasp of modern software engineering practices. Essential qualifications include:
- Proficiency in Node.js and Typescript
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and consumption
- Solid knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git
- A track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- A background in debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing is highly desirable
- Experience working in collaborative teams
- Understanding of software development lifecycle processes
Responsibilities
As a Backend Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining backend services using Node.js and Typescript
- Ensuring the security and reliability of APIs
- Optimizing database queries for performance
- Working closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, frontend developers, and technical stakeholders—to design scalable solutions that meet business and technical requirements
- Identifying and resolving software defects
- Implementing automated testing frameworks
- Contributing to engineering best practices through code reviews and documentation
- Being proactive in enhancing system performance, reliability, and maintainability, ensuring the backend infrastructure supports the company's innovative products effectively
