You’ll join the Data Collection Product Area within our Platform mission, where we build and operate the systems that power how data flows across Spotify. Our team develops the core event delivery infrastructure that enables hundreds of teams to collect and use data at massive scale. Every day, we support the delivery of trillions of events that help shape Spotify’s products and unlock new innovations for creators and listeners alike. \n
What You'll Do Design, build, and improve the infrastructure that powers Spotify’s event delivery systems at global scale Develop backend services using Java and Apollo, and build batch and real-time data pipelines using tools like Scio and Apache Beam Work closely with your squad to ensure systems are reliable, efficient, and continuously evolving to meet user needs Take shared ownership of operational responsibilities, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving system health Collaborate with other teams across the Data Platform and broader R&D organization to deliver impactful data solutions Contribute to evolving our use of cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Pub/Sub, GKE, and Dataflow
Who You Are You have experience building backend systems and data pipelines using Java and Scala You understand distributed systems and are comfortable working with large-scale, cloud-based infrastructure You have a solid foundation in system design, data structures, and algorithms You are experienced with modern data processing frameworks such as Apache Beam or similar technologies You care about building reliable systems and are familiar with continuous integration and delivery practices You are curious and motivated to solve complex technical challenges in high-scale environments You collaborate effectively with others and value open feedback and continuous learning You are comfortable working in agile teams and contributing to a culture of experimentation and improvement

Where You'll Be This role is based in London We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
