About Motorway

Motorway is the UK’s fastest-growing used car marketplace - our online-only platform connects private car sellers with thousands of verified dealers nationwide, ensuring everyone gets the best deal. Founded in 2017, our award-winning, technology-led approach has redefined the experience of selling a car. Motorway is backed by some of the world’s leading technology investors, having raised £143 million in Series C funding.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing scale-up at a crucial phase of growth and help change an industry for the better.

About The Role

Our engineering team is growing, and we're looking for talented Backend Engineers to join our mission to create the most powerful vehicle transaction platform on the planet!

Are you passionate about technology and eager to make a real impact? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can learn and grow? If so, we want to hear from you!

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of new and innovative products, experiment with cutting-edge technologies, and solve challenging problems that are transforming the automotive industry.

Our tech stack: Typescript, Node.JS, and JavaScript, utilising the latest JS features. We use micro-services architecture and deploy to the AWS cloud.

The Dealer Core teams own the Car Dealer experience of the Motorway platform. This includes the Auction: the most vibrant and important part of the Motorway value stream! Engineers here work to deliver features that help Dealers find the best vehicles that fit their market, which gives our Sellers the benefit of a competitive marketplace for their cars.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
