Join a team transforming a global commerce platform through a major Java-based architectural rebuild. You'll develop scalable microservices, marketplace integrations, and cloud-native solutions that enable seamless product, stock, and pricing synchronization across multiple sales channels, helping drive faster market expansion and a better customer experience.

Our client is a globally recognized retail and e-commerce organization investing heavily in its digital capabilities. With a strong focus on innovation, engineering excellence, and customer experience, they are undertaking a major technology transformation to support continued international growth and expansion across digital sales channels.

Working within a collaborative and empowered engineering environment, you'll be part of a team building products that operate at significant scale across multiple markets.

Description

  • Contribute to the rebuild and modernization of a core platform using Java Spring Boot.
  • Design, develop, and optimize integrations with a range of external commerce and marketplace platforms.
  • Build scalable microservices within a cloud-native, event-driven architecture.
  • Develop solutions for complex product catalogue publication and synchronization challenges.
  • Support the migration of legacy business processes into modern platform services.
  • Ensure highly accurate real-time stock and pricing synchronization.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive technical improvements and contribute to architectural decision-making.

Profile

You will bring:

  • Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience building microservices and distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL databases.
  • Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies.
  • Understanding of event-driven architecture patterns.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and cloud platforms, ideally GCP.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work autonomously within agile teams.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Python.
  • Previous experience integrating with marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, or large-scale APIs.

Job Offer

  • Daily rate of £650, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Temporary position in a retail-focused technology role.
