Backend Python Developer (AI)
Backend Python Developer (AI) - Remote - UK

Skills & Experience Required
- 2+ years of solid commercial Python coding experience (focusing on backend and API development)
- Strong understanding of Docker and containerisation
- Agile mindset with hands-on experience working in Agile teams
- Uses GitHub for CI/CD, branching, pull requests, and automated testing
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Visual Studio Code, preferably with AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot or VS Code agents
- Understanding/experience of cloud-native patterns
- Knowledge of scalable architecture concepts
- Experience with Azure’s native AI stack:
- Azure AI Foundry
- Azure AI Search
- Cosmos DB
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Interest in experimenting with new AI frameworks and tools

Role & Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include:
- Confidently coding backend solutions in Python
- Designing and implementing scalable architecture using cloud-native tools
- Building and deploying AI-first features using:
- Azure AI Foundry
- Docker
- AKS
- Utilising Visual Studio Code (with GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants)
- Collaborating in a fast feedback loop:
- Branching, committing, pulling, testing, and shipping through GitHub
- Writing unit tests and high-quality code (avoiding quick fixes)
- Participating in sprints and daily stand-ups
