Backend Software Engineer - National Security

As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll help deliver mission-critical software used by National Security customers to keep the UK safe, secure and prosperous. You’ll work on the feature development and maintenance of critical systems, solving complex, real-world problems.

What you'll do...

  • Write clean, secure and maintainable backend code
  • Translate designs into working software, from concept to production
  • Contribute to code reviews and shared technical decisions
  • Design, build, test and document robust backend services
  • Apply appropriate patterns using proven and emerging technologies

Essential skills...

  • Python

  • Git
  • Docker

Nice to have...

  • Messaging or streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka or Apache Pulsar)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Tooling such as Atlassian or GitLab

Location

ROMSEY - Located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking an on-site gym and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring.
