Company Description
Independent Consultant - Project Management provides freelance project management services on a contract basis, supported by PRINCE2, APM, and MAPM accreditations. The consultancy has delivered projects across financial services, utilities (gas and electricity), and health service sectors. Previous work includes PCI DSS compliance programs, Genesys telephony (IVR/voice) implementations, and call center platform deployments. The consultant also has experience in large-scale data migrations, Oracle HR application implementations, and scanning and workflow project delivery, offering structured and reliable project leadership to clients.
Role Description
The Background Artist will support visual production by creating detailed and cohesive background environments for various project materials. Working on-site in London, this role will involve collaborating closely with the independent project manager and other stakeholders to design, refine, and deliver backgrounds that align with project requirements and brand guidelines.

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Developing concept sketches
- Producing final digital or traditional artwork
- Adjusting designs based on feedback
- Maintaining consistency across scenes and assets
The Background Artist will also assist in preparing artwork for presentation, documentation, or integration into broader project deliverables, ensuring visual quality and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- Strong background illustration and environmental design skills, with the ability to create cohesive, detailed scenes.
- Proficiency in relevant digital art tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent), and comfort with traditional drawing techniques.
- Experience interpreting project briefs, collaborating with stakeholders, and incorporating feedback into iterative design work.
- Solid understanding of composition, color theory, perspective, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to work on-site in London, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks within agreed deadlines.
- Portfolio demonstrating previous background or environment artwork; experience in corporate, technical, or service-related projects is an advantage.
- Relevant education or training in art, design, illustration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
