We are a leading food manufacturer and are seeking a Bagger Operative to join our team in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a supportive workplace with great opportunities for development.
About the Role
The Bagging Machine Operative is responsible for operating and monitoring the bagging machine within a frozen chicken production environment. Your role ensures continuous, safe, and efficient operation of equipment while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor filling and sealing of bags for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct regular quality checks on packaging, including:
- Seal integrity
- Weight accuracy
- Labelling adherence
- Product presentation
- Identify and address defects or non-conformances promptly.
- Perform basic machine adjustments and minor repairs to minimise downtime and report technical issues requiring maintenance support.
- Complete all production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Adhere strictly to:
- Health and safety protocols
- Hygiene standards
- Cold-store working practices

Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday:
- 06:00 – 14:00 (alternating with)
- 14:00 – 22:00 (alternating)

Salary & Location
- Starting salary: £27,904 per year (£536 per week)
- Location: Grantham, NG31 8HZ
