Paul Rhodes Bakery Ltd, founded in 2003 by former Michelin-starred chef Paul Rhodes, is a leading independent bakery in London, specialising in handcrafted breads and pastries made with high-quality ingredients and traditional methods. The bakery is committed to a "back to basics" philosophy, focusing on provenance, true artisanal production, and supporting independent UK farmers.

The team works closely with farmers, millers, and suppliers to source natural, sustainable ingredients that deliver exceptional taste. From its Greenwich bakery and neighbourhood shop, the company serves a wide range of customers across London, including restaurants, cafés, hotels, foodservice companies, and major venues, with freshly baked products delivered daily.

Dedicated to traditional baking techniques and customer service, Paul Rhodes Bakery aims to meet the needs of every client, regardless of size or type of business.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater London at Paul Rhodes Bakery Ltd.

The job title will support daily bakery operations, contributing to the preparation, handling, and presentation of baked goods in line with artisanal standards and company recipes. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with production schedules
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace
  • Monitoring ingredient quality and stock levels
  • Coordinating with team members to ensure timely order fulfilment

The role will involve direct collaboration with colleagues across bakery production, logistics, and customer-facing teams to ensure products are delivered fresh and on time.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food production, bakery, pâtisserie, or a similar hands-on culinary environment, with an understanding of artisanal or traditional techniques.
  • Skills in organisation, time management, and attention to detail to manage daily production tasks and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, with clear communication and a collaborative approach to shared goals.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety practices in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting.
  • Comfort with physically active work, including:
    • Standing for extended periods
    • Handling ingredients and equipment
    • Working early or flexible hours
  • Customer service mindset and professionalism when interacting with internal stakeholders, and where applicable, customers and suppliers.
  • Interest in:
    • Sustainability
    • Ingredient provenance
    • Continuous improvement in bakery processes and product quality

Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or foodservice in Greater London is advantageous; relevant training or certifications in baking or culinary arts are a plus.
