Oral and Maxillofacial Department – Part-Time Support Secretary (15hrs/week)

Our busy but friendly Oral and Maxillofacial Department is seeking a support secretary to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who can learn quickly, follow instructions, and bring a friendly, personable nature to the role.

If you enjoy typing and have excellent telephone manner, we would love to hear from you!


Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

  • Typing clinical letters and medical correspondence
  • Booking patient appointments
  • Managing and liaising with patients regarding appointment arrangements
    • Confident, professional telephone communication is essential
  • Operating in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality

Person Specification


Essential Qualifications

  • Good general education (GCSE English and Maths – grades 4 to 9)
  • Business Administration NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical/resupport role

Desirable Qualifications

  • AMSPAR Certificate or equivalent knowledge of medical terminology

Experience

Essential Skills

  • Assured experience dealing with the public or customer service
  • Ability to use a standard range of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with IT systems

Desirable Experience

  • Ability to manage workloads in a busy environment
  • PreCEDING experience in healthcare settings would be advantageous
