We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our established team of nursery nurses on the postnatal ward.
Job Type: Secondment
Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week
Pay scheme: Agenda for Change
Pay Band: Band 4
The Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our established team of nursery nurses on the postnatal ward. As a member of the multidisciplinary team and with the support of postnatal ward staff, you would provide individualized family-centred care to babies requiring additional care, in preparation for discharge home from the postnatal ward. This would include assisting families to develop appropriate skills to become confident in caring for and feeding their babies before discharge home, via group and individual education sessions.

Good communication and team-working skills are essential aspects of the role. Candidates would be expected to show high levels of initiative and self-direction.
The maternity unit is currently working towards Baby Friendly Initiative re-accreditation and as such, you will be expected to incorporate the Baby Friendly standards in all aspects of your role.
Support and appropriate training will be provided.
