Children in Care (CiC) Team Nurse – Lancashire Opportunities

Job Introduction

We have two fantastic part-time (30 hours per week) opportunities for passionate and motivated Registered Nurses / Children’s Nurses to join our Children in Care (CiC) Team across Lancashire.

These fixed-term roles (until 30th September 2026) are rewarding, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable children and young people by ensuring their health needs are recognised, understood, and met.


About The Role

As a Children in Care Nurse, you’ll work within Lancashire Health Visiting and School Nursing services, delivering high-quality, child-centred care. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking statutory health assessments for children aged 0–17
  • Identifying health needs and ensuring appropriate support plans are in place
  • Acting as a health advocate for children and young people in care
  • Collaborating with social workers and multi-agency partners
  • Contributing to coordinated, holistic care planning

Your role also involves: ✔ Working autonomously while using your clinical judgement ✔ Being supported by experienced colleagues and a Named Nurse ✔ Fostering independence, wellbeing, and positive health outcomes

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering Review Health Assessments (RHA)
  • Coordinating care and maintaining comprehensive health plans
  • Liaising with professionals across health, social care, and education
  • Promoting independence and wellbeing
  • Managing and escalating concerns appropriately

About You

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse or Children’s Nurse with:

🔹 Experience in community or public health settings 🔹 Knowledge of child development and safeguarding 🔹 Strong communication skills to build effective partnerships 🔹 Confidence using IT systems (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel) 🔹 A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to travel requirements)
