Band 5 Community Children's Nurse
Exciting Opportunity: Community Children’s Nurse
A crucial role has opened up to join Birmingham Children’s Health Community Nursing Team (BCHC), part of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, serving a key citywide service providing specialist nursing support to children & families with complex physical health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical interventions to children within homes, schools, and other community settings
- Operate seven days a week, including an on-call out-of-hours service
- Work closely with:
- The Children’s Rapid Response Service (to prevent hospital admissions)
- The Children’s Palliative Care Team (supporting families affected by life-limiting or terminal conditions)
- Manage a defined caseload of children, ensuring consistent and monitored adherence to agreed care standards

Requirements
A suitable candidate should possess:
- Several years of experience as a Children’s Nurse
- Advanced clinical skills to provide tailored, responsive care
- Excellent communication abilities to build therapeutic relationships
- A positive attitude, professionalism, and team player mentality
- Passion for compassionate, child-and-family focused care
- A desire to actively contribute to service developments
