Are you a passionate, NMC-registered Band 5 Nurse ready to take the next step after completing your preceptorship?
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking motivated nurses to join their specialist Looked After Children (LAC) Service, focused on improving outcomes for children and young people in care.
This is a rewarding community role, ensuring holistic health assessments, SMART care plans, and support for emotional, physical, and developmental wellbeing in a highly vulnerable population. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you’ll build meaningful relationships with children, carers, and partner agencies, advocating as a trusted professional.
*This role is for Looked After Children’s Nurses only—*Healthy Child Programme Nurse applicants will not be considered.

What We Are Looking For
We’re seeking registered nurses (NMC Level 1), completed preceptorship, with a strong focus on:
- Child health, safeguarding, and public health nursing.
- Working with children experiencing complex needs, including trauma, mental health, and attachment disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Review Health Assessments (RHAs) and develop high-quality care plans.
- Support children with emotional health, trauma, and attachment issues.
- Collaborate with carers, social work, and partner agencies.
- Contribute to Leaving Care Health Summaries and transition planning.
- Promote service access and advocate for children’s rights.
Candidate Requirements
- NMC registration and evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Dedication to safeguarding and improving outcomes for looked-after children.
- Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle (essential for roles across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland).
