Exciting Opportunity for a Registered Occupational Therapist

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered occupational therapist to join the Band 5 rotation within the Occupational Therapy services at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

About the Role

This varied and interesting rotation provides experience within the acute services for a period of 6 months within each of the following clinical teams:

  • Victoria Hospital - Stroke and Critical Care (including ICU)
  • Orthopaedics (elective and trauma, including the National Treatment Centre)
  • Surgical
  • Acute Medicine
  • Medicine of the Elderly
  • Palliative Care

Responsibilities

The post holder will have skills in the assessment and treatment of physical, cognitive, psychological, and environmental needs of patients and will demonstrate a sound knowledge of the occupational therapy process.

  • Manage their own caseload
  • Experience in multi-agency working
  • Support evidence-based practice
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Participate in weekend working

Requirements

  • Skills in assessment and treatment of physical, cognitive, psychological, and environmental needs of patients
  • Positive experience of managing their own caseload
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice
  • Ability to participate in quality improvement activities
  • Willingness to participate in weekend working
  • Ability to travel throughout Fife effectively in a timely manner as required
  • Possibility of extending the scope to other NHS localities

Hours

  • 36 over 5/7 days includes weekend working.
