Band 6 Children’s Occupational Therapist – Wiltshire (Part-Time, 22.5hrs)

Job Overview

HCRG Care Group is seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Children’s Occupational Therapist to join our Children’s Integrated Therapy Team in Wiltshire.

Role Purpose

To independently assess, treat, and manage a diverse caseload of children and young people (0–19 years) supporting their functional abilities, autonomy, and full potential. Work collaboratively with families, carers, educational settings, and multidisciplinary teams across community-based environments.

This 22.5-hour part-time role is based at Derby Court, BA14 0XG.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment & Planning

    • Conduct comprehensive, needs-led evaluations for children requiring OT interventions.
    • Establish a thorough understanding of each child’s unique condition through empathetic and effective communication.
  • Therapy & Management

    • Provide specialist OT care, including:
      • Functional assessments
      • Treatment planning
      • On-going management (home, school-based, or clinic)
    • Deliver patient-centred strategies to maximise independence, adjustment, and achievement of developmental goals.
  • Collaborative Practice

    • Engage respectfully with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to agree upon shared therapeutic goals.
    • Collaborate with education professionals, healthcare providers, and social workers to ensure seamless, coordinated care.
  • Outcome Measurement & Reporting

    • Use and interpret relevant performance metrics to evaluate progress.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records (legal compliance & professional standards).
    • Compile comprehensive reports to inform multi-agency decisions.
  • Innovation & Adaptability

    • Tailor care to reflect individual differences, including:
      • Cultural and linguistic diversity
      • Communication styles (auditory, visual, kinaesthetic)
      • Socio-economic challenges
    • Proactively innovate from a position of autonomy to improve service delivery.
