EAST AOT BAND 6 CPN
Join East Community Assertive Outreach Team on an exciting Band 6 opportunity, offering to a motivated and innovative NMC registered nurse. While previous experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) is desirable, it's not required.
About the Role
East AOT covers a diverse catchment area, providing a unique opportunity for professional growth while supporting a culturally rich community. As part of the team, you'll gain insights into the workings of assertive outreach, including pre-admission processes and strategies to prevent admissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in weekly MDT meetings
- Attend Wednesday afternoon case discussions
- Engage in regular management supervision
- Attend clinical team supervision, safeguarding supervision, and Behavioural Family Therapy supervision
Our approach focuses on supporting adults aged 18 and above, especially those who historically avoided mental health services, using flexible and creative engagement methods.

Essential Skills and Qualities
- Effective communication

- Genuine interest in supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues and their carers
- Commitment to high-quality care
- Utilisation of the care program approach framework
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within the multidisciplinary team
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel across the Birmingham & Solihull area
Working Hours
- Shifts include 9-5 and 12-8 on weekdays
- Weekend shifts from 9-5
- Caseload of up to 15 patients
