About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Multi-Speciality Unit (MSU) at Ardenleigh.
The Ward The CAMHS MSU is a 10-bedded unit comprising two wards: Pacific and Atlantic Wards. Working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and external providers, the team delivers individualised, trauma-informed care to service users in a recovery-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Deputy Ward Manager will provide frontline leadership, ensuring:
- High-quality, safe and compassionate care following Trust values
- Staff supervision, mentoring, and professional development
- Leadership in adhering to the Trauma Informed Care model
- Effective staff management, including:
- Rota coordination
- Sickness monitoring
- Performance appraisals and supervision
- Participation in management and clinical supervision
- Leadership as a Duty Senior Nurse on a frequent basis
- Crisis management, discharge planning, and site coordination
- Collaborative work with service users, families, and a network of internal and external agencies
