Job Title: Locum Orthopaedic Physiotherapist Banding: 6 Location: Exeter Rate: £25 per hour Start Date: Immediately Duration: Running through to end February 2025 Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week (including regular shifts up until 8pm)

Opening Paragraph: We are seeking an experienced Locum Orthopaedic Physiotherapist to join the team at the Nightingale Elective Orthopaedic Hospital in Exeter. This is a full-time position offering a competitive pay rate of £25 per hour, with the contract running until February 2025. The role involves working regular shifts, including evenings, on Elective Orthopaedic wards. The ideal candidate will have experience in NHS orthopaedics and be available to start immediately. Accommodation may be available on the acute hospital site, with transport options provided for easy access.

Responsibilities: As a Locum Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, you will provide high-quality physiotherapy services to patients in the Elective Orthopaedic wards, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery following elective surgeries. You will assess, plan, and deliver physiotherapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs, including post-surgical rehabilitation, mobility support, and strength building. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure timely discharge. The role involves managing a varied caseload, documenting patient progress, and making any necessary adjustments to treatment plans. Regular shifts may extend up to 8pm, with an emphasis on delivering continuity of care for patients.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HCPC Registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Proven experience in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, particularly in Elective Orthopaedic settings.
  • Experience working within the NHS (preferred).
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings up until 8pm.
