We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our Stroke and Neuro Therapy Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust t
We are a large and dynamic Therapy Team providing a high quality and effective in-patient and outpatient service from our hospital sites. We have a strong emphasis on staff development and learning with excellent support and a robust supervision structure in place. If you would like to gain a broad range of stroke and neuro rehab experience within the acute settings.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
The post holder will deliver a high standard of Occupational Therapy care within the Neurological Therapy Service. They will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, treatment, and management for patients on acute inpatient stroke and neurology wards. The role places a strong emphasis on comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation to maximise patients' independence and support safe discharge home or referral to the most appropriate discharge setting. In addition, the post holder will have delegated management responsibilities and will provide supervision, support, and guidance to junior members of the therapy team.
The post holder will participate in the seven-day weekend working.
The Trust is a multi-site organisation, they may be required to work at any of the Trust sites and you may need to change your normal place of work, either temporarily or on a permanent basis, as a result of development or reorganisation of Trust services.

Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma / degree in therapy.
- Registered with Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC).
- A levels or equivalent qualification.
- Good standard of general education including GCSE Maths and English grade C and above.
- Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to clinical speciality.
Desirable
- Member of specialist interest group.
- Attendance at Clinical Educators course.
Experience
Essential
- Demonstrates clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients within this speciality / within the NHS with experience of elderly and frail elderly, respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Experience of working with student occupational therapists and assistants.
- An ability to analyse clinical and nonclinical complex facts and situations, which require the interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
- An ability to plan, organise, formulate and adjust complex plans.
- An ability to supervise and delegate work to occupational therapists, assistants and students.
Desirable
- It is desirable that the candidate will have had some experience within speciality area.

- An ability to work as team leader, as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- An ability to motivate and develop the team.
- Able to contribute to the 7 day weekend service
