Senior Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS)
About the Role
The Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS) is seeking to recruit a Senior Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to working with young people and young adults with eating disorders.
We are looking for a qualified nurse with post-registration experience of working with children, young people and adults who have eating disorders and mental illness within a mental health setting.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments within a mental health framework.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions for patients with eating disorders, including physical health monitoring.
- Service CPA/Dialog+ implementation and related protocols.
- Manage an allocated caseload of patients with eating disorders and mental health comorbidities.
- Contribute to duty screening, assessment, treatment, and intensive outreach within the ED team.
- Provide treatment in the community and patient homes for patients at risk of inpatient admission, including support for medical admissions and reduction of length of stay (LOS).

Key Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have a high level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be compassionate, respectful and able to prioritise individual patient needs.
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence, resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations—whether in clinical environments or patient homes.
- Exhibit strong engagement skills with children, young adults, and families.
- Possess excellent knowledge of child protection and adult safeguarding processes (0-25 age range).
