About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation and Recovery service based at Grove Avenue.
About Grove Avenue
Grove Avenue is a mixed gender rehabilitation unit for service users with a primary diagnosis of psychosis, and is part of Steps to Recovery. Grove Avenue provides rehabilitation in an unlocked facility for patients who are either receiving treatment under Section 3 of the Mental Health Act, or informal patients.
Our Service
We offer a specialist service within a rehabilitation environment primarily for people with severe and enduring mental health problems and associated behaviours that require a period of in-patient support. A full range of multi-disciplinary assessments and treatment interventions are offered which have been developed using evidence-based best practice to offer an effective service to service users, collaborating with families and carers. The service aims to provide appropriate therapeutic engagement to reduce symptoms of illness, improve service user social functioning, quality of life moving forward, and assisting service users to achieve their recovery goals and aspirations for the future.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
