Exciting Opportunity: Radiographer at Princess Royal University Hospital
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic HCPC registered Radiographer to join our dynamic Radiology team at the Princess Royal University Hospital. This is an exciting time to join the PRUH with two new CT scanners and a new MRI scanner recently installed.
About the Role
Applications are welcomed from radiographers with demonstrable post-graduate experience in X-ray, theatre imaging and fluoroscopy. Previous experience in CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Catheter Labs would be an advantage.
The Radiology department at Princess Royal University Hospital provides imaging services across a wide range of specialties including trauma, neuro, urology, cardiology, and cancer care. There is a diverse and interesting workload and successful candidates will have many opportunities to develop their clinical experience. The department recently performed the UK’s first Thyroid ablation using the hospital’s new IR suite.

As a Senior Radiographer you would be expected:

- To include the legal documentation on the EPIC system and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) associated with each completed patient episode.
- To provide a 24/7 quality X-ray, mobile, fluoroscopy, and theatre imaging service for the department.
- To provide timely, efficient, and courteous provision of radiographic services to the agreed standards of the department taking account of the patient/clients clinical, physical, and cultural needs.
- To be the lead in the department, consulting senior staff as and when necessary, and to be accountable for your own professional actions.
- To work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
- To be actively involved in the training and supervision of apprentice radiographers and students, whilst supporting the wider team. All candidates must be enthusiastic about teaching and supporting learners in the clinical environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
