Job Description
About the Role
The post holder will work in the Community Learning Disability Team providing Clinical leadership and team leadership. The role will enhance the current nursing leadership service provision as a whole. The post holder will lead and work in collaboration with the Nurse Leads and Clinical Leads and Head of Professions, Hub managers.
Responsibilities
- Assess care needs of children and young people with moderate to profound learning disabilities
- Implement care in a variety of settings, providing highly specialist advice and maintaining appropriate records
- Provide specialist education and training to other staff, students, patients, and carers
- Act as a Senior CAMHS Practitioner within a defined community service (Solar)
- Manage a defined caseload within the service, developing specialised programmes of care to meet mental health needs of the 0-18 population with a moderate to profound Learning Disability
- Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation, which govern current service provision and audit
- Provide supervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals and be involved in the development of psychological therapy provision within the service as appropriate
- Ensure effective communication pathways exist
- Ensure the promotion of equality, diversity, and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation
- Identify and contribute to the training needs necessary in providing quality evidence-based care as appropriate
- Provide professional leadership, day-to-day supervision, and support for the defined team or teams, to take on a consultative role, based on developing skills, experience, and expertise within the wider team

Requirements
- Hold a relevant professional qualification (RMN)
- Hold current registration with NMC
Knowledge
- Completion of Continuing Healthcare Checklists
