General Occupational Therapist

About the Role

In this critical role, you’ll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient recovery, independence, and well-being. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough occupational assessments to evaluate patients’ needs and functional abilities.
  • Design and implement personalised treatment plans to improve independence, mobility, and quality of life.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions targeting physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers) to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Monitor and adjust care plans based on patient progress, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies.
  • Maintain con Wilkinson-trained, accurate, and confidential patient records in line with NHS standards.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant qualification (degree or diploma) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Completion of NHS mandatory training.
  • Proven NHS (or equivalent healthcare) experience as an Occupational Therapist.

Desirable Skills

  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to adapt to diverse patient needs (including paediatric cases).
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Familiarity with electronic patient record systems (e.g., EPMAnet, other NHS databases).
