About the Role
Our Musculoskeletal Service is a busy and forward-thinking provider of Community Outpatient Physiotherapy across twenty clinic sites in Birmingham serving a diverse population. Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service for adult patients referred for assessment/treatment within the Trust.
- Deliver services in health centres and GP surgeries, and occasionally in patients’ own homes and other community facilities including nursing homes, rest homes, local Leisure Centres, and other community-based facilities.
- Play an active part in the Physiotherapy service providing team leadership and support, and participating in service-based initiatives and activities, including the supervision, training, and teaching of junior staff, students, and assistants.
- Act as the Research Lead for the MSK teams, serving as the focal point for Research Projects and facilitating the involvement of MSK clinicians in participation within clinical trials both locally and nationally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
