Job Title: Band 7 Speech & Language Therapist – Adult Acute Inpatient Trust: University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust Location: Acute inpatient settings Contract Type: Locum Working Pattern: Monday–Friday Job Overview Pulse is recruiting an experienced Band 7 Speech & Language Therapist to join the Adult Acute Speech & Language Therapy team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. This role involves delivering high‑quality assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing needs within an acute inpatient environment. The successful clinician will work autonomously, managing a varied caseload and contributing specialist expertise to the wider multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities Provide specialist assessment and treatment for adults with communication impairments and dysphagia Work across acute inpatient wards, supporting patients with complex medical presentations Collaborate with families, carers, and MDT colleagues to deliver patient‑centred care Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation Contribute to safe discharge planning and continuity of care Requirements Speech and Language Therapy degree recognised in the UK HCPC‑registered Speech & Language Therapist RCSLT membership Experience working with an adult acute inpatient caseload (NHS experience not essential) Postgraduate dysphagia training Must be a car driver or have reliable transport around the Borough Ideally mask‑fit tested (can be arranged on arrival if needed) Why Pulse?
