Dental Officer – Special Care Dentistry
Dorset and Somerset Primary Care Dental Service
At the Dorset and Somerset Primary Care Dental Service, we are looking for passionate clinical professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate dental care to adults and children with special care needs, paediatric additional needs, or disabilities.
About the Role
This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a genuine difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable patients. You’ll primarily work within the Special Care Dentistry team based at Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester, with additional placements available at our modern six-chair clinic in Poole, providing a valuable mix of settings.

Role availability:
- Permanent positions

Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centred dental care to individuals with complex medical needs, ensuring their access to supportive and tailored treatment.
- Work across clinical settings, patients' homes, and care environments, offering flexible and adaptive care.
- Operate within a collaborative and forward-thinking team that values clinical excellence, professional development, and compassionate support.
- Contribute to improving dental access for marginalised communities and shaping a sustainable career in community dentistry.
